Ranging almost 150m to over 400 million followers, who are the most popular musicians on the Meta-owned photo and video sharing platform?
Interestingly, the top 10 most followed accounts on Instagram looks fairly different to the most followed and listened to on Spotify. Selena Gomez tops the list with 404 million followers, after over taking Ariana Grande in 2022. In a list dominated by females, the most-followed male artist and only one on the top 10 is Justin Bieber with 286 million followers.
We last updated this list just three months ago, in April this year. Since then, every profile on this list has lost several million followers, with Selena Gomez seeing the largest drop of approximately 10 million followers. This is likely due to a large-scale purge of bot, spam and inactive accounts which reportedly took place in May 2026. Beyond decreases across the board, there have been no changes in the order of these artists.
